I imagine the FPS genre has also become more competitive for sales since COD4 too.  I was never really into shooters when COD4 came out but in recent years there appears to be some shooter being released every two or three months.

What if, in objective games only, for every five caps you earned a huge bonus, say 500 points.

In other words, you get like 100 points for capping ... times five caps ... that's 500 points ... but at five caps, you get an additional 500 points?

Defends, I'm not so sure. Defends seem pretty easy to get in this game. But maybe so.

Same with tags in KC.

As for TDM, you could do something similar. At 10 kills you get a bonus atop the kills you've already scored. And I mean uninterrupted kills, not 5 kills, die, 5 kills. I mean 10 kills and you are still alive.

They should just reduce the emphasis but not completely remove scorestreaks or revert back to 3-5-7.

For example, in objective based games just remove the stat tracking and stacking ability for kill based streaks. So if you earned a VTOL, the kills you achieved for the VTOL don't contribute to your game kills, your career KD and you don't get points for kills so you can't achieve a swarm from it. For support streaks you would still get assist points and stacking though.

Only kills using your personal weapon count towards K/D and ALL score streaks will be truly earned.

Also greatly reduce points for non-objective kills and increase points for objective based actions and kills.

Got to be honest, the way I see it is that Black Ops 2 offers far too many killstreaks and rewards the wrong people with them.

I'm sure you've all been there:

Your team is losing, but holding their ground, when suddenly, one or two players on the opposition begin getting killstreaks. Suddenly, the enemy can see your position on the map, they're bombing you, hunter killers are screaming in, and ARG begins roaming, and finally, dogs begin chasing you down. Just one or two players can turn a game from a bit uneven to "holy hell, this sucks."

I'd love it if the number of killstreaks a player could earn was reduced and the amount of uses by a team in a minute were capped. Finally, if a team is falling behind, give them some boosts. It would be much more enjoyable if a team that was struggling was given a bit of a handicap to try and swing the odds.

I just find it aggravating how heavily the killstreaks can suddenly and swiftly influence a game.

Did you invent death streaks by any chance?

Game I was in last night... I had two sentries and an AGR, another guy had dogs and an Escort Drone, plus a VSAT and CUAV... all on my team. At the same time.

Simply too much emphasis.

That's my opinion but it should be yours ;-),

Killstreaks are great.  If you don't think the game was designed for absurdly stupid people then you got bigger problems than killstreaks.  Laughing at people going for high scorestreaks is it's own reward and if you are trying to win there are people laughing at you.  Relax pay your money and never ever question design because you payed for a poorly designed game.

Nah... I prefer to voice my opinion about flaws in the game design and how these can avoided or even changed now.

This is far from a rant and I'm far from upset.

Thanks for the thinly veiled concern.

I agree.  I think this game would be played very differently if Killstreaks were completely removed.
