This kind of baffles me.. you don't want to compete? So... why play competitive games?
You would rather just go in a lobby and not be challenged? Sounds like you should be playing the Bots...
I play for fun as well. I don't pay a lot of attention to my stats, but I go in to win. I like competition, I like being challenged, I love those close games even though they tear up my nerves. Sure it is fun to get the occasional game in which we stomp the other team...
I guess I am just not clear on the logic of saying anything is "too competitive" in a game in which you are competing. Competition is fun, that is why people play sports and games.
Competetive play should be left to league play how difficult is that to understand? Sometimes I wanna mess around and do stupid things like pistols only or pretend to know how to quickscope without having to worry about dragging down the rest of the team or getting spawn camped from an enemy team who under normal circumstances is just an average challenge.
Playing a game for fun and competing are two totally different things
unfortunately treyarch didn't distinguish this in the matchmaking system and made both playlists Leage and Public a skill based matchmaking so there are no lazy games anymore
Even the party games are put up against people you're skill level, they are party games they are supposed to be there to do stupid shit in.
Don't get me wrong I like to test my skills every once in a while but when I am forced to use either a Sub machine gun or Assault rifle to keep a game close or to win it's not fun. I feel like I'm missing out on the fun of the game becuase everyone on that level takes the game so seriously.
Competition is good. It can be fun. But if you're basically playing against a team of gamers who are pretty much your clone, then it gets boring really fast. It's like playing against yourself. They do the moves that I do, they have my accuracy, and they are all just as good as myself.
It's okay if you're getting into a lobby like this once in a while. But of you're getting this kind of competition game after game and you have to play at your best game after game then it's not fun. There are some of us who are not ultra-competitive and just wants to have fun and not just play tryhard all the time. Add the lag and other problems into the equation and the frustration builds up.
Like I said, you are playing on hardcore with a team. Try seeing the game through our eyes. Play Core TDM and play it solo. If you don't experience what we are experiencing then consider yourself lucky. You're on the good side of lag. If you're on the bad side of lag and you're playing against players as skilled as you are then you'll get really frustrated at this game.
Exactly right I don't like having to compete all the time especially since this is a video GAME not a video sport.
I'd like to think that if I wanted to compete like I used to I'd go back to Game Battles and Lan tournaments not sitting at home eating Doritos at my desk.
It's crazy to turn a public GAME into a comptetive E-Sport as they call it just to saciate a few MLG Try hard wanabe's.
Leave the competing to League Play open up Pub matches again and when I get into a lobby of Bad kids I can bust out my custom fuck around classes to spice things up a but. I don't want to get stuck with the same 2 - 3 try hard classes every game shooting down air support and UAV's capping flags by miliseconds and running perfect set ups with total map and spawn control to have to win a game and enjoy my self. Sometimes it's fun just to run around with the Combat axe, or a Tac 45 or hell even just the cross bow and see what you can do. There are a plethora of weapons and I have only used 3 for any period of time.
They should have an option to enable or disable joining matches mid-session.
However, should one choose to possibly join mid-session, they should get double exp or something of that nature. Otherwise there's no incentive.
The worst examples of the current system is free-for-all
yeah I've been thrown into a few games of FFA like 2-3 points from the end and still take the loss from it
Kinda stupid. You shouldn't be able to Join an FFA at all unless it is possible to come back from the deficit and win. Something like <15 and you can join depending on the amount of time left in the game. It's not like it would be hard to program in. If Game A is >15 Lock new players from joining. move on to next search option unless otherwise dicated with some sort of game selector that the player can control.
Seriously, mid-session joining has been a major gripe since who knows when, probably more than 4 years ago.
But we live in a socialist world nowadays, so they have to stick people into a game that someone left due to sucking ass at the game and feeding the enemy an orbital vsat and a stealth chopper.
they shouldnt even have a "leave game" option imho. i bet a lot of people would stop quitting if they had to reboot their whole xbox.
Nope, because they could just dashboard which does not require a full reboot of the xbox. or they can sign out which does not require a full restart of the game like dashboarding does. And they will never be able to control these features since they are console featuers and only ms/xbl control them and ever will have access to them.
And even then many players would just pull the ethernet, or unplug the modem or wireless. So there is no way to force a player to stay in the game ever until the match is finished and never will be.
