Some of you are right about the whole WWII stuff. There has been a lot, and I mean a lot of war games revolving around that time era, but it wouldn't hurt to see another one. I mean it has been 6 going on 7 years since the last full WWII game. But I also think a modern day CoD would be good too.
I am also an original player of the ww2 games. I enjoyed the first modern warfare and black ops but haven't played another cod game since the first BO. It has gotten pretty ridiculous with the story line and I won't be purchasing another game until they go back to ww2. It's where their roots are and what made the game popular in the first place. They should incorporate some beach landing levels to change it up which would be amazing on xbox one and PS4. WW2 had so many different perspectives through which it was viewed and they would all make very interesting campaigns and on-line play. Whether it be American, Canadian, Japanese, German or Russian focused does not matter to me, I'm just hoping they will one day return to ww2.
No, they do not need to keep on rehashing older titles or older wars just because you liked them. The game is meant to grow and progress as times progress not regress back in to the past again.
The game is meant to grow and progress as times progress not regress back in to the past again.
By what authority do you have to declare to the rest of us what CoD is meant to progress or regress to.
By the authority that each and ever game always went forward and not backwards. And old war games get a bit overdone too easily.
3arc did older to current..
IW did current to future..
Rehashing an older time would not go well with the mainstream it would only go well with older players that played the older titles.
As a company they have to keep with the mainstream to keep competitive with other companies releasing games.
Most of todays generation of players do not care about what happened in WW2. So a game of that time period would not do as well in todays market as it did when WaW first came out.
I don't think people here are saying to "rehash" the game. The want a new WWII like game. Different maps, campaigns, etc.
As a company they're losing more and more customers by following your model. Last I checked AW's preorders are 1/4 of Ghosts when the latter was nearing its release. So that's not much of an argument.
You cannot possibly know what today's generation of players want or care about. What they care about is a fun game. If the game is fun, then they couldn't care less if it was themed on Napoleonic wars.
A WWII game would be just a rehash there is only so much about WWII that can be told before it is repetitive.
People are preordering less because many are just getting tired of the fps genre since it is just repetitive and nothing truly new each time. And because less want to get screwed over again because of how IW/3arc are doing micro dlc that basically makes the purpose of a preorder pointless later in the games life. Why preorder for the better items, when IW/3arc will just micro dlc them later. Not worth it.
Do I know directly? No, can I read a trend by paying attention to what gamers are playing. Yes. If they liked older games so much, they would be buying those older games that exist now and then touting how great they were and wanted more on its own forums not coming to a forum for a newer age game and saying they want older age games.
WaW was not really that great of a game. it had its own problems as well. The story in all of the CoD's is lack luster and pretty simple to guess half way through the game.
