The fact that Respawn is going to possibly make a Dedicated Server game sickens me because you know for a fact that one year they are going to drop DS support for the game
Left 4 dead 2 allows lobby leaders to choose dedicated servers or to host the game locally. People almost always choose the dedicated servers. You can also choose the map you want to play on. I think dedicated servers and more choices in general is a good thing. Knowing EA, though, Respawn's game will probably have it's fair share of microtransactions, but I guess all games have that now.
I had LFD 1 and it was a pretty good game. I returned a few worthless games but still kept most of them in case I DO want to play them.
Heck I still have around 20 PS2 games I didnt get rid of
But to me the whole Dedicated Server system is screwed. When they drop a game from the servers the game is basically dead. For example my wife and I can no longer play Scrabble (etc) on two different consoles because we no longer can connect to each other without the dedicated server. That was the latest in a set of screw overs by EA games.
