    Quickscoping Question

Is quick-scoping something that comes naturally or is it something you have to practice a lot to get good at?

Practice, practice and then practice some more. I'd start with DSR since it will result in a lot less hitmarkers. FFA is a great game mode to learn to quickscope in.

If you don't go very good with the DSR give the Ballista a try, it scopes in a lot faster but the disadvantage is you must hit the chest or above to get a one shot kill, try a few of the snipers out and see which one tickles your fancy

            • Re: Quickscoping Question

Practice against bots to get used to quick scoping.

Use ballista, faster ADS as mentioned above.

Once U get the feel for it, go public.

              Put bots on recruit too.

quickscoping requires practice. you need to change your sensitivity to high so you can move faster. pkus, you need to change your habits of letting go of the left analog when shooting or else you will miss. The Ballista is probably the best gun to use for quickscope due to its fast draw time

                • Re: Quickscoping Question

Practice with bots in a private match. Once you go public I suggest playing FFA for a couple of reasons

                  1. People learning to snipe often go negative so if you are practicing in FFA you won't be a burden to anyone
                  2. In FFA you can't rely on teammates to save you difficult situations and FFA will teach you how snipe without having to rely on teammates to carry you in difficult situations.

The key is to put your target in the middle of your screen (as much as possible) before you scope in

                    • Re: Quickscoping Question

Also, be patient with your shots, don't try and rush the shots, when you go into public matches do not be afraid to hardscope a little bit, and as time goes by you'll get faster and faster with your shots. I recommend a 10 or 11, maybe 12 sensitivity, but start out at 10, get used to that for a bit, then go up to 11 and so on. Make sure your reticles (the 4 little white lines) are around the area of the enemy, it was make your shots a lot morw accurate rather than scoping in then moving the scope way over to get someone. Never no scope, unless it's just a reflex and the enemy is literally right in front of you, there's a slight chance of a hitmarker but most of the time it's a one shot kill or a complete miss. Don't get angry if you don't do too well, I've been sniping since MW3 and I'm still average, it takes time to learn. It's a long process but it's worth it.

                        One more thing...

                        SCOPE IN!!!

Most people who have never QSed before don't fully scope in because that is how it looks in killcams and theatre so they think that is how it is done. If you can't see your crosshairs then it counts as a hipfire. Most people think that QSing is raising your scope and firing just before you see your crosshairs but it is actually firing your gun the moment you see your crosshairs. The only reason it looks like people don't scope in is because there is some kind of delay in theatre and killcams

                            errr... what?

I've been using the hip fire crosshairs and screen centering for years... There's nothing wrong with scoping in all the way but it's not quickscoping. We don't rely on 'lag' to make it look like a QS... We rely on QSing to make it look like a QS... With hip fire crosshairs and screen centering, shots are almost always consistent...

*facepalm* apart from screen centering you really don't know what you're talking about. Anyway have fun going 3-20 every game with your hipfires that you think are quickscopes... idiot.

"Anyway have fun going 3-20 every game with your hipfires that you think are quickscopes... idiot."

Only a jackass would try to QS every single shot... Have you ever even watched PVR play (not theater mode) QSing? You don't use the scope...

Lets be real here now. The best snipers are mobile mixed snipers. They'll do a little bit of hard scoping, drag scoping, and QSing mixed together. QSing isn't always the most effective or necessary technique and you aren't going to see any decent sniper utilizing nothing but QS's.

Utilizing the hip fire crosshairs and screen centering is almost 100% consistent (not the case in BO1 because bullets went so random regardless of the hipfire crosshairs). Be honest though, if you scope all the way in its not a QS no matter how fast you think you're doing it. Camera/p2p lag has nothing to do with it...

1:54 is the first QS he even does in the video. Here were talking about one of the more popular snipers in CoD. He does a lot of hard scopes, drag scopes, etc. With a few QS's mixed in.

Oh and you do NOT need to quickscope every shot, only quickscope in situations when you need to, like close range gunfights. Long range hard scopring is fine by me
