Treyarch had an opportunity to do something new and different here but they took the easy option by just doing what's been done before, they could have given us bigger incentives to hitting prestige making it worth while doing. (Just bear with me on this one)
At the moment your are better off by sitting on 55 just as everyone sat on 80 in MW3 but what if certain guns, attachments and equipment were unlocked by prestiging instead of just by ranking up? You hit Prestige 1 and new smg is available, prestige 5 and you have another sniper rifle.
What if special moves like the dolphin dive were unlocked by going through the prestige levels and probably the most radical of all, what if extra maps or even game modes were unlocked by prestiging?
Forcing people to prestige isn't the answer but there's so much they could have done to seriously mix things up instead of taking the predictable route they have.
3arc made two big mistakes putting the AN-94 and Ghost at level 55. This has caused more players to not prestige than at any other COD game. This gives them an unfair advantage over other players who want to play the game right and prestige. Make up for this terrible mistake by putting in a patch that when a player is maxed out have the game force prestige that player.
and if they prestige they can use an unlock token for one of them...
so theres your arguement gone right out the window whats next complainig lvl 5 are running round with ghost?
I like this idea.
While it's up to each player if they prestige, on this game it seems like a really boring way to play the game. When you consider how many guns / attachments / perks / point streaks etc being limited to 55 unlocks doesn't go a long way. Played against a non-prestiger this week and he was good, looked at his custom classes and 4/5 were the same gun with slightly different attachment / perk combos. He's obviously happy playing that way but it just seems so boring. Treyarch have done as much as they can to give people the incentive and that's all that can be done.
