Show respect to your teammates

RunAndGun1

For example:

1. On KIll Cofirmed, if a teammate gets a kill, give them a chance to get the tag they earned. If they're not close by, sure take it.

2. When playing, try not to "push" by your teammates, especially when spawning at the beginning of the match. Go around them. It's not that hard.

3. Be aware of where your teammates are when you stop to shoot. Don't pin your own teammates against a wall or object just so you can get YOUR shot.

4. Don't run in front of a teammate and stop, especially when they're already shooting at someone. Chances are you're blocking their shot.

5. Stop "knifing" your teammate when capturing a flag. Why people do this is baffling. Is it a buddy-buddy thing? Or are you just an ass?

6. Don't take a teammates care package. Unless there's no one around or in sight, allow the guy who ordered the care package to get it. After all, THEY earned it.

I'm sure I could come up with some more, but I'll start with the ones above. If anyone else has suggestions on how teammates can respect one another, feel free to share them here. I want to hear as many opinions as possible.

Cheers, and have fun playing.

Respecting Green guys gets you killed and frustrated.

I agree! Some people do get selfish

Some of this is good in words but who has time to move around another player, worry why they are stabbing me, and its KC tags are tags, collect them all for the win.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It takes the most minute motions of the hand to move around your teammate. To say you don't have time is just ridiculous and selfish on your part. I can't keep track of how many times I am killed because of a selfish teammate who blocks me - because they're too self-absorbed in their own "needs" - or "pushes" me into crossfire. It's ludicrous. And to sit there and try to rationalize it is just too insane for words. It's why COD is turning into crap. Too many self-absorbed players who forget that this is a team based game. And I find I have the best scores when I choose on behalf of my team, and not just my crack-addicted fix on KDR.

Just the opposite. Disrespecting green guys gets you killed and frustrated. Thanks for proving my point, InstantOG. You just supported my point of how selfish players - like you - ruin the game. You couldn't have done a better job of contradicting yourself.

How is my opinion dumb? Because you don't agree doesn't mean its so.

I can't keep track of how many times I am killed because of a selfish teammate who blocks me

This is interesting, when you mean blocks you, does that mean they intentionally are stopping you or your trying to enter a room and someone is already there. Meaning your the one going towards your team mates, whom you mention are so easily avoided?

        "pushes" me into crossfire

WTH pushes? Dude unless your riding on someone's back all the time that is your fault!

It's why COD is turning into crap

No man, teammates "pushing" you or "blocking" you has nothing to do with the quality of the game. Do you seriously expect everyone to play with these "respectful" codes you made up?

too many self-absorbed players who forget that this is a team based game. And I find I have the best scores when I choose on behalf of my team, and not just my crack-addicted fix on KDR.

Your not wrong here but its MP, your playing with and vs unknowns. Its foolish to think they should play as you deem fit. Sorry but your expecting WAY to much from a online video game.

If I were you, stick with a clan of friends and play as you respectively wish.

Selfish players like me top the leader board and help my team win the game. I've trusted green guys to help with the objective, kill players and watch a certain area. Guess what they either ignore the objective, die in a stupid way or let me die and fail to do even the simplest task. When I get "selfish" I take full control of the game and make sure I walk out with the victory. When I get "selfish" I make the game a 1v6 and disregard the stupid people going -6 to even a -26, getting selfish wins games. If I trusted the greenies I would most likely lose more often and complain about this game a lot.

Agree completely.  Trusting randoms/greenies is never going to happen for me, unless they prove that they can do what it takes to win a game.  Sometime it would be me camping near B in Domination killing the enemy team off of it the whole game when my selfish teammates are camping in corners in the back of the map.

LOL.. respect.. has no place in a video game meant for fun. Itis not life and death or reality. So real life morals and ethics have no real place in the game. Only fools believe it does. Those that are smart enough and mature enough realize it does not.

In this game is is all about the player and always will be as long as there are personal stats and personal streaks to be gained. There is no team there is only the next kill no matter what it takes to get it.

    • Re: Show respect to your teammates

Correct. This game is about having fun. Trouble is: People like you keep spoiling other players' fun. And that is why respect does have a place in video games. If you don't care about your team mates, go play Free For All. As soon as you queue up for a team mode game, you take responsibility for your team. If you don't like this, play something else.

      Pathetic.

      • Re: Show respect to your teammates
        iivrruummii

The only thing I care about randoms is if they are causing me to loose because they suck and give the enemy team easy scorestreaks and the win.  Other than that I could careless.

Your problem is assuming I need or have to care about your fun. When the truth is I do not and nor does anyone else that plays the game either. We each bought the game for our own fun not for someone elses fun.

Again you foolishly think that just because I play in a team game that I have to care about the other players; I do not have to ever no matter what you or anyone else ever thinks or wants or says. You do not get to judge me or how I chose to play just because I will not play like you. You are not my boss or the boss of anyone else ever.

So you are realy the one that is pathetic expecting me to play by your morals when you did not buy my game, do not pay for my internet, or xblive or my electricity at all. So you really have no say in how I or anyone else plays the game ever. You only get to police yourself and how you play.

I do get to judge. I also bought my own copy of the game, and pay for my own internet connection. You are just so blinded by your ego, you can't see the forest for the trees.

Yea, I bought it to have fun, too. But, when my fun interferes with your fun, the changes the situation. As someone else pointed out, if you don't care about other players, then play FREE FOR ALL. That should satisfy your self-centered world view.

When I'm playing a game mode that involves "teammates", I should at least have the decency to not get in the way of my own teammates. It doesn't take that much effort to do this. But, clearly, you are SO self absorbed, you don't care that the rest of us also paid for our game and internet. And if you're stupid enough to pin your own teammate against an object or wall, causing him to be killed or slowed down then you should be called on it. Simple respect. Did not your mommy and dada teach you about respecting others?

If having fun to you means causing your teammates to die for YOUR entertainment, then you are truly clueless as to the point of team deathmatch. Like I said, play FREE FOR ALL. That way no one else will care because they're there for the same reasons. It's a free for all. Anything goes.

But, if you want to play on TEAM Deathmatch or Domination, those game modes work BEST when the TEAM plays together. If you don't care, fine. Then play another game, or do what you really want and just watch internet porn with a jar of KY Jelly and a towel. Leave the rest of us respectful players to COD. Go play with yourself. No, really...play with yourself. It's the same thing you're doing with your attitude and conceit in COD.

You can judge but I nor others do not need ever care what you think or feel about it ever. And that is a fact of life and gaming online and always has been. Your only power is to mark avoid and then move on and get over it.

I dont have to change game mode or playlist just to make other players happy either, nor will I ever no matter what anyone of them ever say or think or feel about it. I need not care if it upsets you or not. You are not my boss, you do not get any say in my morals or ethics in how I play a game ever. You only get to decide how you wish to play, not how anyone else plays ever.

Respect does not belong in a online game ever. It is not real, it is not life and death it is fantasy so nothing realy matters at all in the game. Only you foolishly do not understand that and expect others to live by your standards and that will never happen in this game franchise ever.

Sorry but you do not get to tell me how to play or if I can play or should play or anything along those lines ever in this game. Something i guess you do not realize. You control no one but yourself ever in this game.

Does not matter if you dont like it either for I do not have to change ever just because you wish it, nor will I ever change to suit someone elses way of playing the game.

Perhaps you should go play something else instead if you are not mature enough to accept the fact that not everyone has to play by your morals ethics or standards ever and never will.

That's a pretty sad claim to make. But, I can't blame the players competely. COD used to be a respectable game. Now, thanks to Treyarch its been turned into a crack pipe.

It also shows an immense amount of immaturity. To blame the format of COD being a game as an excuse to show no respect to fellow players, much less teammates, is narcissism to the extreme. But, Treyarch also takes a piece of the blame as well. In their video for Uprising, Vondehaar makes the insipid suggestion that the best way to dominate on "Studio" is to control (aka camp) in the saloon and the tower. Camping, the very habit that has ruined a once excellent game series, is now normal for almost half the players online in any one match.

The truth of the matter is that the game can be designed to feed the crackheads who want the mindless kill, kill, kill approach to the game, as well as those of us who were around when the game was more challenging and less of a crack high.

      1. Make the maps the size we saw in World At War. That would bring back aspects of the game that drew me to it in the first place. Such as multiple engagements created by the mere fact that the maps were big enough to generate these multiple engagements. Plus the larger maps made snipers happy, too. So, every class of player was happy.

      2. Make it so a player can respawn near a teammate, like you can in Battlefield, enabling them to get "back in the action". Which would please both new and old players. By picking a teammate to spawn near, the KDR-obsessed player would meet their needs. And I could pick which teammate is closest to the engagement I think is best for my team. Which is what COD is based on, teams. The KDR types are too selfish to think about that. But, that's ok. This feature would help both of us.

      3. In each DLC, make two large maps and two postage stamp maps. The large maps would please those of us who prefer multiple engagements per match. The postage stamp maps would please the KDR pipe smokers.

So, there are solutions that would please all types of players of COD. I've pretty much given up on BO2 and Treyarch. I don't plan on buying any more games from Treyarch. And if Ghosts goes the way of BO2, then I won't be around much longer for the series itself. The solutions are there. The developers just have to be open to more then just the MLG community for input and they can keep the COD series alive.

You should stick than with more "respectful" games man, mario kart, pokemon I don't know but dude complaining about "respect" in COD is like complaining about bullets flying through the air.

  • Re: Show respect to your teammates

I have to agree Black Ops 2 is not a respectable game genre. It's full of racist comments, nudity in emblems and all kinds of obscene language. It's a place where you can hide behind a game console and act bad ass because you think you're the best killer with you're favorite weapon. Some load their game intended to disrespect anyone who feeds back with the negativity. If you do not have friends that you play together with it seems anything goes. The spawn system makes kill confirmed almost impossible to not take tags.

I'm for one is happy when my mate grabs a tag, most of the time if I'm close I get it. Better than the other team recovering the tag.

Running in front of teammates and getting each other killed is sloppy teamwork not respect or disrespect is just noobish and people just want to have fun and do stupid things now in blops2, people don't respect the game much anymore also has to be considered.
