I think it's time for a clean up

bughunt

It’s clear to everybody now that you’ve abandoned us.  There has been no word from A_Trey_U, no hint of a patch…not even the report feature is being listened to anymore.

It’s especially clear to the boosters and Ranked Custom Game glitchers that have slowly started to infest the game and drive the honest players out.

I’ve never really had an issue with boosters.  I’ve come across them numerous times and made a point of breaking up their little sausage party before reporting them and moving on.  But it’s really getting out of control now and it’s clear you are letting them do it.

I’ve been in numerous lobbies where 6 or more players have run to a dark corner, dropped their tac inserts and started dry humping each other.  Within minutes there are escort drones, swarms, dogs, etc…  The amount of players with less than 1 KDR who have nuclear calling cards now is pathetic.

There has been too many times where I’ve lost a match by about 15 points all because a booster or two was on the other team.

This is getting as bad as the cheating was on the Wii.  I skipped over MW3 due to all the cheating and account hopping that was going on. And to think I was looking forward to this game and had high hopes of having fair and clean matches…

The lack of support is one thing.  Allowing the game to degrade into this state is another.  Where is my incentive to stick around when every other lobby I join consists of people filling the skies with score streaks while they level each other up?

I get that we have been tossed to the side.  But is it really too much to ask that you do a spring clean every month?  At the very least is will decrease the amount of players who are rigging these lobbies and send a clear message that they can’t take control and ruin the experience for others, just so that they can boost their egos.

Ideally we also need a patch to fix a few remaining problems.  This will also stop people from abusing a glitch that turns a custom game into a ranked match.

I have an urge to “name and shame” a certain group of players who have sh1t talked and accused me of cheating/glitching for months.  I took a look at one of their recent games in theatre.  They were split between two teams with a bunch of low level cpus that have the [3arc] tag.  This was listed as a RANKED match but it was clear that it was a custom game mode that was glitched into giving XP, medals, challenges, etc.

Once a month.  That’s all I ask.  If you won’t support us then just spend a few hours at the end of every month to do a clean up and send a message to those that want to ruin the game for others.  Just stats, I know.  But it is sabotaging the lobbies that I am in and making this game pointless to play.

Agree with all this except one of your last points and thats the guys playing bots.

There is a combat training game mode online that gives half XP half the players on each team are bots (as you said).

Its 2nd from the bottom on the categories part and below boot camp when you go on that.

    @Digitial_devil:

I just went online using an old secondary account to take a look at what you suggested.  Can't say that the outcome was good.

I checked my Recent Games list and found it empty - perfect!  I needed to see what my recent games showed so that I have a starting base for comparison.  It being empty just makes things easier.

Now, my method was to do a regular HCTDM and check the Recent games once it was done.  then, I was going to do a combat Training match and check again.

This is where it got interesting....

I joined a random HCTDM and ended up in a lobby with a few names that I recognized from the Glitched Custom Game that I spoke about.  The game was laggy, but it didn't really matter, I was just after a base for comparison.

The host (after raging about lag) left near the end and Host Migration kicked in.  The match finished as normal.

I went into my Player Channel to see how the recent game was listed and found TWO recent games:  One showed as "Custom Games" while the other (that was only 1 minute long) was showing as "Public Match".

Both of these games was from ONE match that I played just now and they split when the host left.  After viewing the "Custom Games" entry it produced an error near the end (when the host left) and said "{NAME} Migration failed.  Dropped by host."  (the NNID that I have replaced with {NAME} was a player who was not in the match)

The second entry was the other half, after Host Migration occured.

I'm sorry, but I think we need the attention of a developer here.  The host of this match (who happens to be on this forum) must have set up a Custom Games match using the glitch I mentioned but didn't do the required step to lock it it.  Checking my stats shows that it did, indeed, record what happened.

I have saved both enteries for this game to my Player Channel.

Please note:  This is not a hack/cheat/etc.  That is abuse of a glitch that has not been patched.

i agree on those things and trey also need to nerf some of those overpowered pistols cause its ridiculous that their outbeating primarys which its stupid and another thing i also think they should also nerf the stupid target finder by removing the red target block that pops up wen using target finder

    • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
      bughunt

Some good suggestions there, but I think the priority needs to be more on the major issues at hand.

The Target Finder has a counter perk:  Cold Blooded.  I think it doesn't block it 100% since the corners of the sight light up when pointing at a player, but it sure does help.  It does the job.

The guns seem to be more calibrated to a "perfect" connection.  I sometimes get more hit markers with a specific gun in worse lobbies.  The connection is a definate priority, but it's...ugh.. "manageable" to an extent.

They do seriously need to address this glitch and do a clean up to keep people in line.

At the very least, we will probably need an emergency patch to stop this growing problem.

Why dont yer stop being a whiney bit#h and pick a pistol up because there easy to use .i bet u only use pdw or mp7 or sum bs like that ffs man up

    • Re: I think it's time for a clean up

Pistols are my top 4 guns in my top 5, I use them as I need to play cautiously and it keeps me thinking - they are in NO way OP. They are decent guns, but OP, yeah whatever. Run into a smg,ar,lmg, and you see each other at then same time, your dead.

treyarch is still resetting the boosters accounts, reported just a few days ago, booster had his account reset. so keep reporting the boosters.

    • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
      bughunt

They are?  Just curios, but do you happen to know when the most recent clean up was done?

It's just that I am still seeing the same names that I've caught boosting over a month ago that are still running around, dry humping in corners.

I'm still using the report feature but it seems almost pointless.

There is also the issue of this glitch...  Does anybody know how I can get the attention of a dev?

It is clearly affecting regular lobbies since I was dropped into one.  In a Custom Game you can customize pretty much everything.  And people are glitching it to operate like a public match.

I don't know the full workings of this glitch, but take a look at what you can set up in a Custom Game and you'll see why this is a concern.

      It's like a cheaters paradise.

I thought target finder fnding players through walls was game breaking, but apparently not.

        • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
          bughunt

I've only really used the Target Finder when I've picked up a gun that has it equipped.  Even then I've prefered to use a gun with a different sight.  I personally find it too cumbersome.

I did notice that the diamond would appear before the enemy came around a corner, but I assumed that was because a part of their character model or gun was visible in my line of sight.

Didn't realise it was that bad, damn.  You've got my vote on it being game breaking.

          • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
            barolb

It happened once to me, and there was no possible way for there to have been any bit of the gun or character model sowing. It was a completely solid wall that they show up through. It showed a players location straight through a wall while i was looking down a hallway on Overflow. The UAV was up at the time too, so i was pretty dumbfounded when it happened. The player was just standing there for a good few seconds, then moved a bit and then their red diamond disappeared.

I don't know how it happened though, but it was with a pickup gun. Patching it now before players figure out how to abuse it is a good idea, although at this rate it seems unlikely. I'm just tossing it out here on the forums to see if the attention drawn to this issue would be large enough to warrant a patch, like with MW3, although for the time being it isn't as extreme of a problem.

To make note, i did try shooting the player through the wall, and that was how their red diamond ended up disappearing. I wasn't able to get hitmarkers on them, probably due to the wall being a wall you can't normally shoot through.

            • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
              bughunt

Yeah, that's pretty bad.  Why do the cheaters need a hacked console when the developers make it easy for them...

We really need just one more patch and a monthly clean up.

In response to your post below:  It's encouraging to hear that it was a glitch that spurred them to release a patch.  Maybe this Custom Game glitch that is growing in popularity will make them do something.

It's clear how bad that XM-25 glitch was.  This glitch, in theory, could be as bad if not worse.

I have no desire to run some tests on it to see how much it can be abused, nor do I want others to.  But we really need a dev to take a look.

I heard that there was some kind of emergency patch on MW3 for the Wii.  What did it take for that to happen?

And, to be honest, if they don't support me then I don't support them.  This new CoD: Ghosts that they are squeezing out this year better be up to scratch and supported on the Wii U, same support as the other platforms, before I'll even consider paying up.

I won't be making the same mistake again.

The XM-25 glitch one? Or the account hopping one? I don't know.

        • Re: I think it's time for a clean up
          barolb

Account hoping was a hack. If i recall it can use recent players list, leaderboards, or lobby to allow someone to steal someone elses account. Won't say anymore since i don't want to get my post deleted, but it is by far one of the worst hacks to encounter IMO. Right next to that hack where you're automatically drawn to the hacker's location and you end up continuously respawning infront of them. That hack REALLY sucked. I encountered it on Black Ops Wii once on Villa, and surprisingly not on MW3 Wii O_o

The XM-25 glitch is what they did the emergency patch for.

            DaPhillyCheeze

I encountered it on blops 1 when I had gone back to it. I was surprised because I didn't know they had progressed that far. I actually kind of liked the hacker in mw3 because I was as good as them if not better and I would always make them rage

I used the pp90m1 with range, extended mags, blilnd eye (for air support), steady aim, and hardline I believe I used the airstrike, ah-6 and pavelow and could usually get it. It was really fun owning them and then they call you hackers XD I also liked quickscoping them because that would piss them off a whole lot more. Especially the ones who have that talk to other team hack and the guys who speak spanish

Ah the clusterspawn hack...Would you believe that people still hack MW3? It's kind of pathetic, really.

  • Re: I think it's time for a clean up

I had every intention of posting these sooner but there was some massive glitch that meant that I couldn't log in.  I thought for a while that I was banned based on the resulting URL "loginbanned=true" lol

Anyway, I'm pretty pissed.  I went back into my second account to record video, make screenshots, etc, of my recent games and found that they were wiped.  There must be some shelf life for how long recent games are stored on the server or something.  I still had the recent players list available but it wasn't in any of the recent games for any players that were in this match, either.

This means that I can't prove that one half of the split match was listed as a "Custom Game".  I'm sure that if the developers were to look for themselves then they will be able to bring it up.  But If anybody knows how I can list older games then please let me know.  For now I'll just post what I have saved.

(I have to use TinyPic since I can't insert for some reason...)

I took a sequence of screenshots to show continuity and that they are not parts of seperate games.  Player rankings, scores, time, points, etc should help show it.  I have censored all NNIDs except for my own.

    http://i42.tinypic.com/2iw2g4m.jpg

Both parts visible here.  Part1 was listed as a "Custom Game" in my recent games list.  Part2 listed as "Public Match".  Take note of the total time for Part1, circled in red.

    http://i41.tinypic.com/2cngock.jpg

Part1 - This is the start of the match.  I'm spectating the host and have not yet joined.

    http://i39.tinypic.com/2lwujvc.jpg

Part1 - I join the match at this point.  This is just to show that it was behaving like a "public" match where anybody could join if they were to search for a regular match.

    http://i44.tinypic.com/5lo4ea.jpg

Part1 - This is when the host (who I am currently spectating) left the match after raging about lag.  During the match the Host Migration worked as normal and we carried on without a problem for the full length of the match.  In theater it only plays up to the point of the host leaving and produces this error (circled in red).  Also note the total time in the player (circled in red).  The blurred out part at the start of the error message is the name of a player who was never in the game (which doesn't make sense).

    http://i39.tinypic.com/2s9eyoi.jpg

Part1 - This is a second shot of the same point in theater when the error occured but with the scoreboard, showing time, score, points, etc.  This is just for reference and comaprison for proof.

    http://i43.tinypic.com/23vhvuv.jpg

This is showing the second part of the same match, after the split when the host left.  This part was listed in my recent games as a "public match".  Total time for this "match" is circled in red.

    http://i43.tinypic.com/2sbstp0.jpg

Part2 - I am spectating myself since the host has quit.  Take note of the total time (Circled in red)

    http://i44.tinypic.com/b803tl.jpg

Part2 - This is the same point as the previous screenshot, but showing the scoreboard to prove it is a continuation of the same match.

    http://i41.tinypic.com/2u8lan5.jpg

Part2 - The end of the match.  Scoreboard up.  It also shows that this glitched "Custom Game" is behaving like a public match since I was awarded match XP.  All stats were also saved to my combat record.

I don't know how else I can prove that this "Custom Game Glitch" is being abused and is affecting regular public matches now and has done for a while.  It was just pure luck that the host messed up and it split the enteries, showing it was a custom game when I was actually hunting for proof.

The Recent Games list no longer shows any entries, but I'm hoping that the developers will still be able to view the entries for this game on their end and see for themselves that it lists as a "Custom Game".

I've also noticed that a lot of my matches have been worse lately, with weird crap happening.  The most worrying part is that it will only continue to get worse, too.

If anybody has any doubts on this then you are free to add me and view it for yourselves.  My NNID is in the screenshots but PM me if you decide you want to view the recordings.

Ran into a young kid this morning with a kdr of .40 who went very negative every match and a nuclear calling card. Not even 100 wins. Reported him but I doubt it matters...

Yeah, I've been seeing a whole lot of them.  My nephew was even in a lobby where this player was telling the rest of his team not to shoot a specific player on the other team because they were boosting.  He had no fear of announcing it, either, since there is no punishment now.

My nephew, being the star that he is, made it his mission to bust up their little boosting arrangement.  This went on for about 9 games straight.  He reported them after every match.
