Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

Swaggin412

I'm not sure how others feel about this but personally I think it takes way too long for care packages to fly in and drop. It doesn't have to be lightning strike fast but at least reduce the fly in/drop time by half.

Or fly in like the Escort Drop like in MW2.  I think the reason why it is so slow is to give the enemy a chance to shoot it down.

  • Re: Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

My opinion is that care packages shouldn't be even in this game. If someone can't get a high scorestreak then he can't.

Care packages were good in BO because some of the stuff you earned through them weren't earnable killstreaks.  Or was that MW3, I cannot remember.

I use care package sometimes and high score streaks it just depends. Not everybody is skilled enough to get high score streaks and others might not think some are worth the points. I don't mind care packages, but to say people that can't get high score streaks are screwed isn't right. Randomized items that can be in it makes it more fun too.

      • Re: Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

I don't even bother to earn the high scorestreaks, i use the low to medium ones only.

My point is that if someone can't get one of the high scorestreaks then he can't, its annoying when you play vs a clan of noobs who spam the carepackage every 10 seconds and then they get VTOL, VSAT and Dogs, its ridicolous, there should be limit of calling in carepackages.

But i understand where you coming from, the high scorestreaks are not easy to get because of the lag and hit detection in this game, its frustating when you are 1 kill from Swarm and then get killed because the other player lagged.

I understand both sides, the ones who hate the CP and the ones that love the CP. I personally find that there should not be high scorestreaks in the game at all and CP should be removed.

I've had that in MW3 and had to deal with an AH-6 Overwatch, Reaper and AC-130 all at once.  This was before the LMGs were buffed.  Only one that got away was the AC-130.

Tbh as long as it's not overly rewarding I don't see an issue personally.  It can be more annoying in round based games since there's a much less chance of a potential hijack, but other people on the other side will be doing the same anyway.  Sure they can be game changing but depending how close the game is, even lower end streaks can be game changing.  Someone could buzzkill me when I'm one off a VSAT when they call in a UAV and my side lose by 5 points or so.  And I lost the opportunity to chain the Lodestar etc.  Just the way it is.

          • Re: Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

            Yes, i agree.

I understand that some players  are new to the franchise and they want to help their team by all cost so they run the carepackage to help the team out, i am cool with that, no problem. But when the whole enemies team is spamming carepackages nonstop then i am done. 1-2 carepackages each match is ok but not nonstop, this is a shooter after all and not lottery ffs.

Stinger + Black Hat + Scavenger = Easy XP

Please stop complaining, not everyone is skilled enough to get a 10 killstreak every game man?

                read again what i wrote.

I think part of the problem that certain killstreaks getting spammed, and it's not just the CP either, is that maybe some gamers are not confident of getting high end ones and as they cannot have class specific scorestreaks they settle for easier achievable ones?  I've done this personally and end up finding it annoying when I go on 10+ killstreak because I don't have the VSAT selected.  But then if I set it too high and my side lose by a few kills/points then I think I haven't helped my team as I could have done.  I usually select Guardian and/or Sentry Gun for CTF.  Even if enemies use EMP grenades they can still help the enemies from advancing towards my base, which can mean I can get to them quicker and kill them before they plant their flag at my base.

I think the best thing I got from a CP was the Stealth Chopper on Drone (core TDM) and it got a lot of kills.  But the funny thing is that I'd have got it normally had I selected it.  I've ben against a team who got Dogs by CP and it got a fair few kills to switch what looked liek a defeat into a victory but they're pretty easy to shoot down.  They don't climb obstacles, have a big hit detection box and aren't too agile.  Rather face the Dogs in this game than in BO1 since the third/fourth dog got me if I wasn't running the AUG or FAMAS.  Bloody pain to kill if I used the FN FAL, just like the RC-XD.

Yeah, you are right there. I can get 5 streaks quite consistantly, but if I set my scorestreaks any higher than that, I don't often get them.

Very rarely get a 10 streak

You guys are smart to play to your capabilities. That's why people get frustrated and others boost - they don't play to their capacity.

Too many players look at kill streaks and scorestreaks like lottery tickets. They figure if they play long enough, sooner or later they will win the lottery and have a really good match.

Since Elite came along - the basic service is free and shows the important information - play a couple dozen matches or just go back through your games. It tells you what your best streak was for each recent match in BO1, MW3, and now in BO2. See what your mode (most common) kill streak was and presto, there's your sweet spot. Set your lowest ksr to 2 or 3 kills below that, your second ksr at your sweet spot, and then your 3rd ksr at 2 or 3 kills above the sweet spot ... and watch your overall performance increase.

To get better at earning higher ksr's, flat out turn your ksr's off entirely. Play 100 matches with no ksr's active and I guarantee you'll get better at the game. You'll have to. What's better, you'll eventually find ksr's more trouble than they are worth and only use the AI rewards instead of the UC rewards.

BTW ... "you" rhetorically, not you guys specifically.

They could do it so the chances of the streak is rewarded by the score differences between the two sides.  It would perhaps reward team play more, prevent spamming them and lessen the issues some people have with it (not you, some people treat the CP as big as a thing like lag in this game).  I used to run CP in MW3 as a last ditch to snatch victory from a likely loss although I don't think I had opportunities to do that since it was an idea I thought of late on during the game's cycle.

      I'm mixed on this.

Personally, I don't mind that there is a care package but I think the highest scorestreak you should be able to get from a care package is a Dragonfire.

But I make it my duty to steal enemy care packages, booby trap or destroy them.

Price you pay for that streak. It has more drawbacks than potential advantages.

Enemy players do also need to to shoot them down.

  • Re: Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

It's the price you pay for potentially getting high scorestreak rewards with only a fraction of the points they cost.

There has to be some trade off, and although I've lost a few in my time, I think it's a fair enough trade.

Nothing bothers me about care pacakes apart from the bounce!

i use CP because i only play HC now so im happy to get a uav. but to stop others stealing it i throw the flare in a building so the CP goes on the roof then just use black hat to collect it luckily ive never been a victim of the bounce but seen some hilarious videos

  • Re: Care packages taking too long to fly in and drop.

I've always used low killstreaks, not because I can't get a good killstreak going or im not confident enough too, I do for a support thing for the rest of the team. I'll always run with a UAV and a counter at least and either a Hellstorm or lightning strike to chain from it.
