Modern Warfare 3 Title Update and Hot Fix Notes

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Update History (All Platforms included)

 

TU1: Enabled Theater, Vault, Private Match options, Elite and Facebook functionality for Launch Day.

 

TU2: Fix for YouTube video upload on SD TVs. Matchmaking Improvements.

 

TU3: Theater Improvements (Fix to FF and RW in Theater), LAG improvements, Improvements to Hot Fix system.

 

TU4: Change to address hitching and lag in gameplay.

 

TU5: Further improvements for hitching and addressing lag in gameplay.

 

TU6: Additional improvements to address lag. Fix for Melee Jump. Clan Tag Validation (remove buttons from clan tags). Improve Host Migration logic. Prevent stat loss when player loses connection from server (Internet pull / drop).

 

TU7: Improvement to address "Host Disadvantage" / "Lag Compensation" that caused hosts with good connections to be hindered. Plus ability to hot fix additional tweaks based on user feedback to this change.

 

TU8: Networking enhancements, Theater improvements and fixes, Further improvements to "Host Disadvantage" / "Lag Comp", Increased speed of YouTube uploads from 32k to 256k, Nerf to all Akimbo weapons (reduced fire rate), Shotgun re-balance (Slight nerf to Striker, slight buff to all other shotguns, bar the AA-12 and 1887), Fix that prevents some users from not receiving their prestige token after prestiging, fix stat bug that retains "games played" stat across prestiges, removal of StealthnBomber radar visibility in Color Blind mode.

 

TU8: has been released on PS3 where it also includes improvements to voice chat.

 

TU9: 400 new ranks included in 5 new prestige levels. Also adds the ability to view Clan Rank on player card in-game when enlisted in a clan on Call of Duty: Elite. (This update is now available on Xbox Live and will be available on PSN on Feb 28th.)

Ability to select country flags as clan titles.

Additional network optimizations.

Additional ELITE push to game CaC validation.

Support for ELITE Clan Operations end future features.

Fixed PM issue where failed invites were preventing large parties from congregating.

Repair of writing of the games played field of the player stats so we can sweep LBs and correct averages on the backend.This process will commence shortly.

 

TU9/10 PS3: Two TU's due to Sony sub - first for Sony to test DLC, second to enable DLC on 28th.

Xbox TU9 features.

Voice volume slider fix.

HD rendering for PS3 theater.

Host migration update.

Anti lag balance adjustment for 1/2 bar connections vs. 3/4 bar connections

 

TU11:

(Xbox) Anti lag balance adjustment for 1/2 bar connections vs. 3/4 bar connections

Additional anti-lag tuning

Fix crash in theater related to MU removal

Security fix to prevent all current know game hacks and mods including stats revert.

Security fixes.

Double Repear call in glitch fix

 

TU13 (Xbox): 1.6.530.1

Release on Elite MP maps Foundation and Sanctuary.

Emergency TU (Xbox):

Fixed an issue where certain Elite Premium players were unable to download more than 6 content drops.

 

Patch 1.12 (PC)

Support for Collection 1.

Caught up on hot fixes and glitches made to date on other platforms.

Added FFA Gunplay and Infected to play lists.

 

TU13 (PS3):

Dead Silence/Sit Rep Pro functionality update.

Support for Elite Drops 7 & 8

 

TU14 (PS3):

Change to match making where region searched is determined by party host.

 

TU15 (Xbox):

400 new ranks included in 5 new prestige levels (prestige 16 through 20)

Dead Man’s Hand now has a reduced explosive radius

Dragunov rebalance

Fixed Dead Silence / Sitrep Pro issue with Specialist class (you can't hear your own footsteps anymore)

Fixed an issue where some “defense” kills were not incrementing on the leaderboard

Fix for rapid fire glitch (semi-automatic weapons can't gain rapid fire and unlimited ammo anymore)

Increased damage reduction for Blast Shield in Hardcore modes

Fix for Kill Confirmed: Update the player score before updating the team score

Competition Mode added to System Link (LAN parties)

 

TU16 (Xbox):

Matchmaking

Added Competition Mode to System Link (LAN).

Add telemetry for matchmaking for future improvements.

NOTE: Matchmaking changes coming after patch with this new data.

Game Balance

Dragunov (Weapon) - Multiple tweaks including reduced kick to bring it more in line with RSASS

Dead man's hand (Deathstreak) - Reduced explosive radius apx. 25%.

Blast Shield (Perk) - Increase damage reduction for Blast Shield in hardcore modes.

Misc Bug Fixes

Fix for not all Domination defenses counting towards your "Defends" stat.

Kill Confirmed - Update the player score before updating the team score.

Fixed bug where the Blind Eye kill streak is taken from the player on round transition if earned from getting 8 kills.

Fixed bug where the Blind Eye kill streak is taken from the player if earned within 5 seconds of spawning.

 

TU16 (PS3) (goes live June 21)

Fix for exploit to start an online MP match with a custom game mode

Prep work for adding Telemetry for matchmaking for future improvements.

 

PC Patch 1.14 (goes live June 21)

Fix for missing .iwd files error causing non-dlc players to be booted from games (iw_25.iwd, iw_26.iwd)

Fix for non-dlc owners being kicked from game when host migrates to DLC owner

Javelin (Weapon) - Reduce Javelin explosion radius by 20%

Sit Rep Pro fix-- you can now see portable radars without being in their range

Fix for player accuracy being miscalculated

Fix for minute long kill cam duration with Reaper

Lookout map - fix for players being able to hide behind tarp

Lookout map - fix for stealth bomber not damaging players

Fix for both team's receiving losses at the end of a round based gametype (Demolition, CTF, Search & Destroy)

 

Re-balancing and Updates currently in Development and/or Discussion:

Timer countdown tick fix for PS3. Both in-game and in-lobby.

Further improvements to network performance.

Further improvements to the Spawn system.
