Activision Publishing and Hasbro today announced TRANSFORMERS™: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK™, a video game complement to Paramount Pictures' upcoming film, TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION, set to release this June. This third-person action adventure video game goes beyond the movie by uniting the universe of director Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS movies with the ever-popular Cybertron universe. Players will choose from over 40 playable characters from the two different universes as they battle to secure the Dark Spark. TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK will be releasing on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, Sony's PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo's Wii U™ system and the Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system and Windows PC.

Serving as a follow-up to both the upcoming TRANSFORMERS live-action film and Activision's TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON and TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON titles, TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK jumps worlds and factions as it weaves the tale of the hunt for an ancient relic as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership - the Dark Spark. Players will be able to switch between the heroes of the noble AUTOBOTS and the nefarious DECEPTICONS throughout the single-player campaign. Similar to High Moon Studios' CYBERTRON entries in the highly regarded series, gameplay features nimble, fast-paced running-and-gunning combat paired with traversal and vehicle action across open battlefields for large-scale, dynamic conflicts.

 

Players will also see the return of the fan-favorite multiplayer mode, Escalation, which delivers wave-based, survival-style gameplay for up to four players online cooperatively. It features new, upgradeable defense systems, recognizable adversaries from the lore, and an expanded roster of playable characters from past and present. Additionally, an exciting new leveling system transforms single-player and multiplayer into one unified, persistent character development path. Experience earned in any part of the game unlocks potent awards and tactical loadout choices - including new characters, stronger weapons, special abilities and consumable bonuses - for use throughout the entire game.

Skylanders fans vying to become the ultimate Portal Master can now download the Skylanders Collection Vault application in the iOS App Store today. The new app lets players easily manage their Skylanders toy collection and explore new Skylanders toys from the palm of their hands and on the go. Fans can also share and compare their Skylanders collection with family and friends — all for free. To celebrate the holiday season, Activision will be granting Skylanders collectors' toy wish lists via a Holiday Wish List Sweepstakes.

 

For the first time via the Skylanders Collection Vault app, Portal Masters can discover Skylanders characters and learn more about their backstories all in one place. Optimized for tablet and mobile devices, the app also allows fans to keep track of their Skylanders collection and their character wish list, browse images and videos, unlock special content and challenge their friends to see who has the most robust collection.

Activision Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Entertainment, LLC today revealed The Amazing Spider-Man 2™ video game is planned to launch next spring, alongside the Sony Pictures Entertainment feature film of the same name. Developed by Beenox, the same game studio behind 2012's original hit The Amazing Spider-Man™, this all-new third-person action-adventure video game builds on the story of the previous game with an alternative take on the events of the upcoming movie, while also giving players an enhanced, free-roaming web-slinging experience through a greatly expanded New York City.

 

"The first The Amazing Spider-Man game gave players their own beautifully animated, free-roaming city of Manhattan to traverse and explore — a playground of majestic scale in which to live out our common hero fantasies," said Thomas Wilson, Co-Studio Head of Beenox. Activision Publishing, Inc. announced Skylanders Boomcast a series of online webisodes — which debuts Friday, "SWAPtober" 4 on the Skylanders YouTube channel. Offering a weekly glimpse into the magical world of Skylands, Skylanders Boomcast will be hosted by actor Zachary Gordon (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) as he brings fans the latest Skylanders franchise news, gameplay tips and tricks, fan art, character spotlights, exclusive interviews with the Skylanders team and more, straight from the source.

Be among the first to blaze a trail through the wild frontiers of Destiny, the next evolution of entertainment from the creators of Halo®, and the company that brought you Call of Duty®.
